Community Expo to Provide Free Opportunity for Families to
Learn How to Keep Kids Happy, Safe & Healthy!
Seeking to offer community residents an opportunity to learn more about keeping their children safe and healthy, the Service League of Cherokee County will be conducting a family-focused Community Expo on Saturday, March 1, 2014.
Co-hosted by the Service League of Cherokee County and their corporate partner, Northside Hospital-Cherokee, the Expo will provide a variety of services, products, and activities, including:
Free Child Safety Seat Checks by Safe Kids Cherokee & Free bicycle helmet fittings by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office
Demonstrations by RADKids teaching children how to stay safe in case of an attack
Free non-perishable food items and hygiene-related items (while supplies last)
Free children's toothbrushes by Cherokee Children's Dentistry (while supplies last)
Free backpacks with books and school supplies for students (while supplies last)
Free scoliosis screening provided by Moss Family Chiropractic
The Community Expo is free to the public and will take place Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the G. Cecil Pruett YMCA (151 Waleska Street in Canton). The Expo is from 9am-11am. Parents will need to supply identification showing they are residents of Cherokee County in order to participate.
Established in 1935, the Service League of Cherokee County is a volunteer group of 90 women who work year-round, volunteering a collective total of over 10,000 hours per year, to raise funds for local needy children. Funds raised during this event and other activities, including Riverfest, Run for the Children (5K Race/1 Mile Fun Run), and Dancing for the Children celebrity dance challenge, provide for necessities like clothing and eyeglasses, while also supporting camps, scholarships, and much more.
