The 11th Annual Run for the Children 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run - "Reindeer Run" 

Saturday December 7, 2013 -- Historic Downtown Canton

Online Registration for the Reindeer Run 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is now closed.  Walk-up registration is available during packet pick-up on Friday, December 6, 2013 (4-7pm) at the Gazebo in Downtown Canton.  It is also available the prior to race start Saturday morning, December 7, 2013.

LOCATION: Historic Downtown Canton, 130 E Main Street, Canton, Georgia 30114

REGISTRATION: Registration prior to November 29, 2013 is $25.00 for the 5K and $30.00 beginning November 30th through race day.  Registration for the Fun Run is $15.00 anytime.  Those wishing to contribute and receive a shirt without running may register prior to November 29th as one of “Santa’s Helpers” for $15.00.  Race Day Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the gazebo downtown.  Pre-race package pickup will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the gazebo in downtown Canton.  For more registration information, email or visit or

T-SHIRTS: All pre-registered runners and “Santa's Helpers” will receive a commemorative long-sleeve shirt. Shirts are NOT guaranteed for runners signing up on race day. The Service League cannot be responsible for distributing shirts after race day.

COURSE: The race starts and ends at the gazebo in Downtown Canton following a route through the historic central business district and surrounding neighborhoods.

RACE TIMES: The Fun Run will begin at 8:00 a.m. The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m.

AWARDS: CASH AWARDS to the top 3 Overall Male & Female 5K runners! Top Male & Female Masters and top 3 Males & Females in standard age groups will receive awards. Special Pandora charms will be presented the top female in each age group (20 years and older). Fun Run finishers will receive a commemorative ribbon. A $1000.00 cash prize will be awarded to the school with the most participants.

ADDITIONALLY: The race will be held rain or shine and no refunds are available.

The Service League of Cherokee County is a volunteer group of 90 women who work year-round to raise funds for local needy children.  Funds raised during this event and other activities, including RIVERFEST and Dancing for the Children, provide for necessities like clothing, eyeglasses, and utilities while also supporting camps, scholarships, and much more.
