The Service League of Cherokee County is once again seeking nominations for its annual Heritage of Hope Award. The award recognizes a community member who serves as a role model for compassion and service to children in need and strives to make Cherokee County a better place for children and the community. Do you know a person who has made a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of children in Cherokee County? Nominate him or her today!
The award will be presented at the Service League’s Annual Gala and Benefit for the Children held on January 27, 2024 at the Wheeler House in Ball Ground, Georgia. The event will start at 5:00 p.m and includes dinner, dancing, and silent auction. In addition to the Heritage of Hope Award presentation, at the event the League will recognize Service League members who have completed their 10-year commitment to the League. Tickets are $125 per person and may be purchased at www.serviceleague.net
“The ladies of the Service League have huge hearts for children in our community and work hard to bring hope to their families,” Marcey Stein, Service League President said. “We want to honor and recognize other members of our community who dedicate their time to helping children in need as well.” Prior recipients of the award include Amy Economopolous, director of the Anna Crawford Children’s Center, and Judge Jennifer Davis, Cherokee County Juvenile Court.
The nomination period has now closed. A panel of judges will carefully review the accomplishments of each nominee using a rubric which gives great weight to nominees who have taken a leadership role in activities that have a lasting or meaningful contribution or impact on children in their community.
