Casework is the heart of the League's mission.
As the oldest charitable organization in Cherokee County, our legacy and mission has remained the same since 1935: helping local children in need.
Hundreds of requests, every year
Our fiscal year begins the first of May. During it we receive hundreds of requests for basic needs for children, from school counselors, county social workers, churches, social services, teachers and individuals.
Fundraising provides children with housing, utilities, clothing, school supplies, medical exams and medicine, dental care, eye exams and eyeglasses, Christmas gifts, and scholarships. We do our best to assist with each request that falls within our mission and budget.
I am so grateful for your work to help this family. They are so appreciative of your efforts. I know mom was struggling and this will certainly alleviate that stress.
Beyond casework
Scholarships, special projects and community impact grants
Each year the League evaluates its budget and decides what can be allocated to scholarships for graduating seniors in the Cherokee County School District, special projects, and community impact grants. Every dollar starts at a fundraiser.
